Mendel Toron, LCSW, CCTP, EMDR Certified

Mendel Toron, LCSW is a licensed therapist specializing in EMDR and trauma therapy with adults and teens in private practice. As an EMDR Certified therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, he uses a variety of specialized modalities to help individuals heal from attachment and trauma-related mental health conditions.

During post-graduate training at St. Joseph Orphanage, he was struck by the amount of clients and families who felt stuck in their traumatic experience even after many years of talk therapy. This led to him to pursue additional training in advanced forms of trauma and attachment-based therapies.

Mendel has worked in a variety of mental health settings including the St. Joseph Orphanage, Jewish Community Services of South Florida, Yeshivas Toras Chaim Toras Emes, Lubavitch Educational Center, and Mechina of South Florida. More recently, he served as the Coordinator of Trauma Sensitive Services at the OHEL Children and Family Services in South Florida. In this role, he worked as a consultant developing and facilitating workshops, trainings, and professional development for schools, synagogues, and places of employment on trauma-informed care and mental health. He also worked with the OHEL National Trauma Team, Chai Lifeline, and Hatzalah providing mental health support to individuals and families during times of crisis.

These days, Mendel works full time in private practice seeing clients and families in his office in Aventura, Florida. Additionally, he provides training, consultation, and speaking engagements to parents, schools, and community institutions on mental health and wellbeing.
