Sameness is Not Equality.

There is this idea out there that people's differences means that they are either better or worse than others.

That others are either above or below me. 

This unhealthy perspective contains in it the emotional error of sameness. We conclude that the solution to this power differential is to try to keep people the same.

And that this sameness must be what equality is.

However, in truth, equality only exists when we look at human beings through their innate uniqueness. 

At our essence, humans are endowed with a unique soul and purpose in this world. When we bring out and embrace people's differences we invite equality.

Nobody is the same. 

Embracing our differences is true equality.
