About Shua

Shua Waxman, RCSWI, EMDR, IFS (Level 1), Trauma & Relationship Specialist

If you’re here, you’re probably looking for more than someone to listen. Maybe you’ve been in therapy before and aren’t quite where you hoped to be. Or maybe you’re coming for the first time, hoping to actually understand yourself, not just cope better for a while.

In our work together, we pay attention to what’s happening in the room, not just what’s being said. The pauses, the hesitations, the things that are harder to put into words. I bring warm accountability to the process, so you’ll feel genuinely understood, but I won’t let you stay stuck. People often leave sessions feeling like they’ve found their own answers. I just hold the lamp while we walk together.

At the core of my work is a relational and existential approach. This means we don’t just focus on symptoms. We explore the deeper questions underneath them: who you are, how you relate, and what you want your life to mean. Over time, you may begin to notice that the same patterns showing up in your life show up in therapy as well. Instead of only talking about them, we notice and work with them as they unfold in real time.

I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR to help process trauma at a deeper, experiential level and work through internal conflicts between different parts of you. I also lead therapeutic process groups, which is one of the most powerful ways to understand yourself in relationships and improve your life.

I hold an MSW and am a doctoral candidate in social work (DSW, May 2026), currently credentialed as an RCSWI and pending LCSW licensure in Florida.
